A patriarchy-smashing comedy by Adam Szymkowicz
Robin Hood is (and has always been) Maid Marian in disguise, and leads a motley group of Merry Men (few of whom are actually men) against the greedy Prince John. As the poor get poorer and the rich get richer, who will stand for the vulnerable if not Robin? What is the cost of revealing your true self in a time of trouble?
Marian, or The True Tale of Robin Hood is a co-production with our Arts Partner River’s Edge Theatre Company and will be staged outdoors in the lawn behind Main Street School in Irvington — right next to our theater! All performances begin at 7:30pm. Audience members should bring their picnic blankets and lawn chairs. Recommended for audiences age 10 and up.
10% of ticket sales will go to The LOFT LGBTQ+ Community Center, a non-profit institution providing a range of services for that community in Westchester County, NY, and the Lower Hudson Valley Region.
As featured in The Hudson Independent, The Rivertowns Enterprise, ArtsWestchester, ILoveNY, Scarsdale Inquirer, and BroadwayWorld
